Recent Updates

Well, since Old Warrior's Stronghold was created in August of 2006, just about everything is recent and just about everything here has been updated.  Anyone who has custom things not found here, please do contact the webmaster (Old Warrior) to see if he will post them here in the Stronghold.

Most Recently, 25th of September 2011:  Added Advanced Warhammer Quest house rules mostly related to combat. They are a work in progress, but I foresee them being completed in the near future. There is both a very usable html wiki and a fairly extensive mind map (created using Xmind, free version.  Links to both are on the House Rules page under Old Warrior's House Rules.

12th of April 2011:  Added house rules concerning makeshift bandages in most of Old Warrior's Warhammer Quest games.  Check them out here:  Makeshift Bandages.

1st of February 2011:  Tables listing all the Treasure Cards have been added to the Custom Tables page.  These might be useful to those who wish to roll on tables to generate random treasures.  Also, this should be a complete listing of all Treasure Cards from all official sources.  Check them out here:  Treasure Card Tables & Treasure Card Tables with Check Boxes.

7th of December 2010:  Old Warrior's Random Battle-Level One Monster Table has had  second revision which adds a completed D66 Objective Room Monster Table based upon the same concepts as the normal monster table, but also diligently compared to the Adventure Book Objective Room Monster Table.  Check it out here:  Random Battle-Level One Monster Table (Revised) .

5th of September 2010:  Old Warrior's Random Battle-Level One Monster Table has had some serious revisions. Check it out here:  Random Battle-Level One Monster Table (Revised) .  Now, it really IS much more like the original Monster Event Cards but with the variety of the RolePlay Book Level 1 table.

18th of June 2010:  A new custom character by Art Franklin has been added.  The Rune Master, a human Wizard and illegal runesmith.

2nd of August 2009:  A new Official Adventures Random Quest Generator has been added which includes the six adventures from the Catacombs of Terror expansion rule book.  This makes a total of 36 possible official adventures which will be randomly generated one at a time.

22nd of June 2009:  Some additional entries have been made to the Warhammer-Quest-A-Pedia wiki page.  Toughness, Armour, Bandages, and Provisions are among them.  For anyone interested, I am sorry but only I am able to update this wiki.  I will have added a Warhammer-Quest-A-Pedia Feedback topic to my message board.  One can go there to leave any remarks including any suggestions for wording (or better wording).

28th of April 2009:  Added a Warhammer-Quest-A-Pedia wiki page.  It is a work in progress hosted here at Old Warrior's Stronghold.  It is being used as a place for Old Warrior to post his commentary on the game and to give an unofficial glossary of terms as well as provide a place to easily reference Old Warrior's custom creations.  Hopefully, it will provide a handy reference for gamers.  Being a single html page, this wiki should be easy to download through the Save As option in the viewer's Internet browser.

2nd of February 2009:  Updated the Jaedai and Saedith files with the most recent revisions made in January 2009.  Changed the Feature Page to feature the new WHQ community project: Pit Fighter: Community Revisions.  Do not underestimate this project.  It is a major revision of the original Pit Fighter.  Many Pit Fighter fans will probably like it, but they can always play the original instead if they do not like it.  This revision document is added to the Custom Characters page as well.

7th of September 2008:  A minor update -- Now, all the links on the Custom Tables page should point to html files.  Previously, several of the files were in mht format, which cannot be properly viewed in some browsers.  There are more mht files throughout this site which also need to be updated.

13th & 15th of August 2008:  A minor update -- the Dwarf Engineer's link which had been broken was repaired.  I removed the links to the specific forum-based WHQ games, because the games were dying or dead from players' absences due to real-life issues.  I am leaving the main link to my message board so that anyone can see any public forums available there.

27th of July 2008:  Much thanks to Bruno and his Museum for letting me get warrior rules from there (these two whole paragraphs of updates are thanks to the Museum.  I have been able to add the Divine Knight by Benjamin M. Sloan and the Alchemist by Chris Taylor, which is apparently a revised version of Greywolf's Alchemist. The full rules for a revised Pirate by Cutlass have been added as well.  Then I also added Thecustodian's full rules for the Halfling Chef and Halfling Fieldwarden as well as his newest warrior the Priest of Mannan.  I like the tables Bruno does for the custom warriors, so I am borrowing the format for SpinningDice's Halfling Dabbler.  Divine Knight ; Alchemist by Chris Taylor ; Pirate (revised) by Cutlass ; Halfling Chef ; Halfling Fieldwarden ; Halfling Dabbler

The following files are updated with better formatting (html instead of plain text in some cases): The Grey Wizard (Weather Wizard) and
High Priest by Greywolf, the Astronomer,  and Mentalist by Chris Taylor, and the Runsmith's
Apprentice by Thecustodian.  Grey Wizard (Weather Wizard) ; High Priest ; Astronomer ; Mentalist ; Runesmith's Apprentice

Also, I reformatted and did some other minor editing of the Alehouse Thug V2 by Grogling.

I have added the following free search engine, which hopefully will be useful to the webmaster and the visitors alike. Any advertisements which might appear while using this tool are entirely generated by the search engine provider. When entering text in the search box below, please use quotations marks if you are sure of the exact wording. This will help you to find what you are looking for more quickly. I did a test of this feature using Warrior Priest and "Warior Priest". The results were impressive.

Most Recently, 15th of June 2008:  I have added the Museum's link to the WQ-Related Links page, because the Museum has been reopened (lite version).  Also, I added a link to the Warhammer Quest page of BoardGameGeek.  The Museum ; Board Game Geek: Warhammer Quest

15th of March 2008:  A The Halfling Dabbler (a "minor" mage), by SpinningDice, has been added to the Custom Characters page.  Halfling Dabbler

11th of March 2008:  A new special location for settlements, the Empire Army Camp, by Donaldinho, has been added to the Custom Tables page.  Empire Army Camp

9th of March 2008: The Empire Soldier, created by Donaldinho, has been added to the Custom Characters page.  This is a tough human fighter.  Empire Soldier

11th of February 2008: The Friendly Giant has received a warrior rules face-lift.  The html was probably good enough, but now one may view the Friendly Giant's rules in pdf format with bookmarks which help to locate specific rules more quickly. The Friendly Giant pdf version

13th of January 2008: The Online Warhammer Quest Games section on the home page has been updated to include all newer games. Online Games

14th of October 2007: The Jaedai (Jedi) and Saedith (Sith) are given the spotlight on Old Warrior's Feature Page.  A new page has been created for anyone wanting to read the first feature about The Citizen.  A list of former features links has been added to the feature page. Old Warrior's Feature Page   Feature Number One: The Citizen  Also, bookmarks have been added to both the Jaedai and Saedith rules pages for quicker navigation when referring to training, enemies, Force Powers and etc.

September or October 2007: A Webring link has been added to the Home page once again, though the Ring of Slayers seems to have disappeared. The current Webring relates to Warhammer but not specifically to Warhammer Quest.

24th of September 2007: The Jaedai (Jedi) and Saedith (Sith) with Warhammer World flavor have been updated and given their own separate rules pages.  They are now in html and have advanced rules.  A little more work needs to be done on the Jaedai's Settlements section of the rules and some work on the full listing and descriptions of the Saedith's Force Powers.  All in all, there is plenty of material here for players to get a good start into adventuring with these Old Warrior-recreated warriors.  Here are their respective locations: Jaedai and Saedith .

2nd of September 2007: A new feature has been added to the Stronghold, the Latest Feature page. Here The Old Warrior intends to spotlight and comment on some custom character, table, house rule (s), and etc... The first feature will be on the Citizen character created by Luminos and modified by Old Warrior. Old Warrior's Feature Page

29th of August 2007: The Old Warrior continues to be busy having added house-hunting and buying a house to the mix of work and relaxation. But, the Webring Ring of Slayers section on the home page has been removed due to the lack of participants in it and the fact that when I click on that link it no longer shows the Ring of Slayers.

29th of April 2007: Old Warrior has been very busy with a new job, but finally has added just one more thing to this website -- a link to a gaming website, where pictures of beautifully-painted models can be found: Kuster's Gaming World .

25th of December 2006: Added two more versions of the Party Composition Tables to the Custom Tables page: Warrior Party Composition Tables Limited Edition  and Warrior Party Composition Tables Expanded Edition .  Quite a bit of work went into these two tools. The Limited Edition comprises only all of the Official and Semi-official warriors' names of which the Old warrior had any knowledge up to this time (about 20). The Expanded Edition includes those warriors plus most of the custom warriors found on the custom Characters page in Old Warrior's Stronghold. Great care was given in evaluating the limited number of warriors that are able to provide healing to a warrior party. It turns out that there were quite a few more of this type than the Old Warrior at first imagined. Also, the healer types are color-coded to assist in quickly deciding how effective they might be in keeping a particular party alive.

14th of December 2006: Added a Custom Quests page with links pointing to it from Custom Characters, Other Custom Stuff and the Random Quest Generator pages. Added three more quests to the Random Quest Generator.

7th of December 2006: Added a couple more tips to the Tip of the Day feature on the home page and added a link to the new game in OW's message board, Annihilation Station. At the time of this update, that game had two Chaos Warriors, one Undead Avenger, and one Witch. They were artificially created at a mature Battle Level 4 and are quite powerful.

19th of November 2006: Added The Thief, by Art Franklin, to the Custom Characters page.

16th & 17th of November 2006: Added a counter to the Random Quest Generator page to show how many random quests have been generated. Added an Adventure Book Random Quest Generator with only the name of the Objective Room, adventure number and title for each adventure -- requires that the user have the Adventure Book (came with the Warhammer Quest boxed game) to make good use of this generator.

12th of November 2006: Added to the Custom Tables page: New Adventures table by Kestrelstart, which has 28 adventures for several different Objective Rooms. This document has been made Internet friendly (hopefully) with Table of Contents bookmark links.  Also brief descriptions from all twenty-eight of these have been added to the Random Quest Generator, giving a total of 34 random quests available.

6th of November 2006: Added a Random Quest Generator accessible from the new Home Page Dropdown Menu. At this time it still needed many more quests added to its random hopper. Also added a Warhammer Quest Games Online section to the home page, from which one may jump directly to a particular game forum in Old Warrior's Message Board.

5th of November 2006: Added nine new board sections by Cutlass to the Custom Board Sections pages, five rooms, one large room, three corridors (one a turning corridor). Three of these are sewer sections (room, large room, and corridor); there are four other rooms: Dwarven, Chaos, Nurgle, and Slaanesh; there is one dark red corridor; and, one Dark Elf turning corridor. Also, added "Old Warrior's Warhammer Quest Tip of the Day" to the Home Page and a dropdown menu so visitors may quickly jump to different sections of the home page.

25th of October 2006:  Added The Monk  by Art Franklin to the Custom Characters page.

6th through the 9th of October, 2006:  Added four more custom characters -- The Disciple of the Apocalypse, The Undead Avenger, Vampire Slayer, and another Witch Elf.  All character mht files have been converted into htm files (not hard to do, but time-consuming), so that they may now be viewed in Firefox.

4th of October, 2006: Six more custom warriors added to the Custom Characters page (Cavalier, Citizen, and Cleric of Sigmar -- by Luminos; Gutter Runner, The Flagellant, and The Troubadour -- by Grey Wolf).

15th & 16th of September, 2006: WQ-Related Links page has nicer, neater links and Dungeon of Muggee was added to the list.  Also, a new settlement picture has been added to the Other Custom Stuff page, Special Locations.

10th of September, 2006: Other Custom Stuff page added for those items that do not seem appropriate on other pages.  At this date it only had a picture created to represent what is possibly available in any settlement.  Also, this is the first day that an update page has been available, mainly to keep the many updates off of the home page.

1st & 2nd September, 2006:  Dwarf Guildmasters, Dwarf Runesmith (special location), and Treasure Conversion System, all three by Thecustodian, have been added to the House Rules and Custom Tables pages, and Combat Events, by Art Franklin has also been added to the Custom Tables page.

The Custom Board Sections page has been divided into sub-pages to save on image loading time and many normal links have been added to this site for any who have trouble using the buttons to navigate.  Thecustodian's house rules, Custodian Rules, have been added to the House Rules page.  Many more board sections by Cutlass have been added (Two more rooms, one more Objective Room and eleven T-Sections added on the 23rd of August, 2006); and, an added feature provides an in-between size for those interested (click on the orange "150-sized" button on the custom Board Sections page).  Also, several custom characters have had documental face-lifts done (reformatted and/or turned into html web pages).

Future Updates

As the webmaster is able...

Many more tips to add to the Tip of the Day feature on the home page.

More custom characters should be added and some of those currently hosted here should be better formatted.

Harvesting of more goodies, especially warrior characters, from another site that has given permission.  Thanks to Techpriest of Slayer's Quest Tomb for allowing such "pilfering" of goodies.

"Really Special Locations" to be added to the Other Custom Stuffs page.

Some of Old Warrior's creations also need to be completed. For instance, the Jaedai/Saedith with full advanced rules, including two complete Force Powers/Spells listing for Light Side/Dark Side characters. Others needing more work (especially Skills and Settlement rules) are OW's Ninja, Rogue Smuggler, Sea Elf Adventurer, Sea Elf Princess, and Dwarf Engineer.
